About us

Project

Tea Drunk Monkeys is a young Paris-based project driven by four people passionate about specialty Chinese tea. We create a space and time to share the tea state: a calm intoxication paired with clear-headed energy.

Our ambition: to make pure tea a new social language in Europe. We bring gong fu cha into contemporary urban life, so that "getting tea drunk" becomes an experience that is authentic, accessible, and woven into the rhythms of everyday life. No alcohol, no sugar, fully present.

We go to the source, to small producers in China, to find teas that hit and offer a memorable tasting profile. And we bring them back to where people really gather: events, clubs, festivals, streets... We share tea gong fu cha style, we show how we brew it, how we choose it, how we live in it. No snobbery, no intimidating ceremony: just tea, done well, shared well.

Team

We're four friends hooked on tea. Each of us fell into it a different way, but in the end it's thanks to tea (and a few other twists of fate) that we found each other in Paris.

Today we run tea sessions everywhere, sharing tea with people from all over the world. Through these moments, tea has become far more than a drink for us: a real way to connect, to create, and to bring people together.

Efim

He discovered the effects of quality tea in 2018 and hasn't stopped exploring this world since. Driven by his passion for tea, he moved to China in 2019, where he learned Chinese and dove deep into tea culture. Over his travels, he visited many tea gardens, met passionate producers, and discovered, cup after cup, the richness and diversity of this world.

Daniel

Into tea since 2022. Daniel is known in some circles as the director of gritty, sometimes scandalous documentaries. After crossing paths with Kirill at a film festival, he caught the tea fever and set off, in his own way, to explore this world.

Kirill

Into tea since 2017, serving it to friends and acquaintances since 2018. He ran a tea space in Moscow, with regular guests, between 2020 and 2022. In recent years in Paris, he's held tea sessions at raves, apartment parties, exhibitions, and sells tea under the handle teadealer_paris.

Yudan

Like many Chinese people of her generation, Yudan saw tea as a bitter drink, mostly for older men. She discovered gong fu cha in Shanghai through Efim in 2020, and gradually grew passionate about the richness of teas, their many flavors, and the social dimension that comes with them.
