One of the most original Sheng Pu'ers I've encountered. Full of spice, and the finish is out of the ordinary — active, tingling in the throat, freshness and warmth at the same time. It somehow has a slightly aged character that you wouldn't expect from a 2025 tea. I've noticed this on other Shengs from the same producer. Impossible to explain why. Drink it and tell us if you agree.

JingMai Mountain, in Yunnan, is home to some of the largest ancient tea forests in the world — five of them, covering about 1,180 hectares. These are not monocultures, but true living ecosystems, with about 1,500 species of native seed plants and 253 species of terrestrial vertebrates, within which tea trees have grown for centuries. We visited producers in many villages on the mountain and sourced two who stood out, both in Nuogang, the best-preserved Dai ethical village in JingMai.
This tea comes from the first producer we found there: a charismatic young man who prepares tea as an art and whose trees are, for the youngest, centenarian, for the oldest, multi-centenarian, so we call him by what he is: old trees and ancient trees (Da/GuShu). His teas always have an unusual character and never cease to surprise us.
